PROCESS

Our garments are hand-made from beginning to end. The fabrics are hand-woven on pedal looms by artisan communities in Mexico and each garment is cut and sewn in our studio. We only utilize sustainable fabrics like cotton & hemp amongst others.

All of our pieces are patterned, cut and sewn to order by hand by Alejandro Gutierrez in our Portland, Oregon studio. Our made to order, small batches allow us to maintain quality, reduce waste, and provide customization options for orders.

This is our Singer 112W139 double needle walking foot machine built in the 1940’s used for all our heavy-duty fabrics like Japanese denims and canvases. This is a workhorse of a machine and it’s utilized for all felling finishes and double needle top-stitching on our pants & jackets.

All patterns are made in house therefore allowing us to make alterations to any orders and have a consistent sizing range

All of our patterns are hand-drafted in order to provide consistent sizing and allow for custom tailoring changes for our customers.

The textiles we work with have a loose weave which leads to heavy fraying upon cutting each pattern piece. Our Juki EF4-B511 is the most used machine in the studio, every piece is run through this overlock to help stabilize the hand-woven fabrics.

Fabric origin label found on each garment

Every piece comes with a label detailing garment origins; fabric origins, production as well as artisan and collaborative partners in order to educate the wearer on what all went into making each piece.
